So far so good...

Teva Omnium M Mens Omnium Sandal

Teva Omnium M Mens Omnium Sandal

I'd read where Teva fixed the problem mentioned about the sole falling off, and I love my Teva sandals that I've worn for 3 or 4 years that have this same type clasp (except on a more open type sandal), so I chanced it with these. I don't like messing with Velcro-like products every time I put on my shoes. I'm glad I got these. I wear them most of the time unless I'm running or at the gym. Great support, extremely comfortable, stylish to my eye. I haven't gotten them wet yet, but I'll be back here to change my review if they fall apart. The one down side at first is that they really, really stink coming out of the box. I set them outside for 2 days and nights before wearing them (1 day and night wasn't enough). Now there's no stink, and I've been wearing them continuously, walking the dogs in them, etc., and I'm extremely happy with them.

  1. I went down to a wilderness/camping store and tried these on because the clerk was wearing a pair and raving about them. He was right to rave. I've had these for a month and they are the most comfortable sandals I've owned. A lot of companies have been intergrating sneaker technology into sandals and I've bought a few at the "big box" stores. Those sandals have developed tears in the leather (thin, cheap leather) and end up getting very "loose" on my narrow foot. These sandals are solidly built and the leather seems to be durable. They are comfortable, stylish and very light. I wear sandals (I prefer fisherman style) almost year round so hopefully these will last me a couple of years. Anyway, these shoes were $100 at the camping store but I got them on amazon for $68 including tax and shipping. Great deal.

  2. I've been testing these for about 9 months in and out of water. The sole finally pulled apart as well documented in previous reviews. The shoes however are still in great shape. Just have to trade them in every few months. No big deal.

This sandal is very comfortable and provides good support for day hiking. The rubber toe is great for protection and the leather is comfortable with no need to break them in. This is the third pair my husband has worn and he desires no other sandal since this one is perfect.

  4. Hi, I just purchased these shoes and the fit is fantastic, I can adjust it to perfection and the sense of stability and security I feel is amazing. I wear them with or without socks, they do not smell after being worn for hours in the heat. They can also be worn on a bike in the summer, no sweat at all, thanks Teva!

It doesn't get any better. I wear them everywhere...run, hike, loaf whatever. I had bursitis in my heel and these shoes are like walking on pillows!

  6. I do a lot of hiking in the mountains of Montana. I, often, wear hiking sandals. I was looking for a pair of hiking sandals that had a closed toe so that little pebbles could not enter. I found these sandals in Teva Omnium. I have now owned 2 pair of these sandals over a period of 4 years. I still have my first pair. When I read that these sandals come apart with use I looked over my 4-year old Teva Omniums. I could find no place, on my sandals, where they had any indication of sole separation or coming apart. I bought a second pair only because some of the decorative straps had become frayed because of several washings; not destroyed just frayed. These are just the best hiking sandals that you can buy. The parts do not come apart. The persons who wrote that these shoes do must have purchased some ripoff fake shoes elsewhere or must have some ulterior motive. My only critique is that they do not come in enough different colors and I wrote to Teva to complain about this one silly fact.

  7. The Teva's are a very comfortable sandal. I really like the quick release that goes across the top of the foot. It makes the sandal easy on and off. I also like the mostly closed back which lets minimal debris into the shoe. I have only had them about a month so I can't really speak to the longevity or coming apart problems mentioned in some of the other posts yet. So far it has been a really good product.

  8. Having had my Teva Leather Omnium sandals for over a year now I can say that they are the best walking shoes I have ever worn. They are so light and comfortable, walking on bush tracks and gravel roads in the heat of summer my feet stay so much cooler and walking seems effortless. I have three pairs of Teva's and these are easily my favorite, only switching to a closed shoe 'Teva eVent' in wet weather. I have had none of the quality problems that others have mentioned and after many hundreds of hours use over the past year would recommend them to anyone.
