Best Swimwear for Babies

play Unisex baby Infant Stripe Sunsuit

This is the cutest little sunsuit! I took my 3 month-old camping at the beach and it is very hard to find swim/beach things for a baby that young. The i play brand came to the rescue! They have so many beach/swim/sun protection products that are high quality and adorable. Everyone who saw my baby asked me where I got this sunsuit. It made it so I only had to put sunscreen on his feet, hands, and face (got the all-clear from his pediatrician to use sunscreen on him and we used Mustela baby sunscreen, which is fantastic, by the way). I also LOVE that this has a zipper AND snaps. He did have a, um, diaper mishap in this and it had easy access and cleaned up wonderfully. FYI, I expected it to go to his ankles, but it went a little past his knee. He is a tall baby, though. I would recommend this to anyone taking their little one out into the sun.

I love love love this sunsuit. I get stopped by other parents at the pool all the time asking where they can buy it. My 22 month, who can't even speak yet, clears prefers this over rash guards and swim trunks. It's much lighter weight and comfortable for him. This is one of my top buys on Amazon.

  2. Seems to run a tad roomy. Covers from mid-forearm to ankles. The color is very bright and cheery and the fabric is very lightweight, cool and water-wicking just as described in the product detail page. I'm very happy with this suit. I chose this over the long sleeved shirt-only type because I was concerned about my girl scraping her knees by the concrete at the pool. It does keep her from getting sun, and also protects her knees just as I'd hoped. My only complaint is the if you use a flotation vest it may cause the zipper to rub on the underside of the chin a bit. I would recommend this swimsuit to anyone with a toddler who'll be out in the sun playing in water.

  4. We bought a few different bathing suits/rash guards for my daughter before our trip to the Caribbean but we ended up only using this one. The snaps at the crotch made it the simplest one to get on and off. The coverage is great (no sunburns). The only thing is that you need a swim diaper for underneath, but other than that, it was a great product! Highly recommend it!

  5. This sun suit is great. My 23 month old is on the skinner side and the x-large/24 month size is a little baggy on him and it hits below his knee and midway down his arm. It is really lightweight and it dries super quick and he moves really nicely in it. It also has buttons at the crotch for easy diaper changing. It just seems so much easier then putting on trunks and a sun shirt. I love it!

  6. This is great for swimming and outdoor activities. I thought it might be too hot for the baby (he was about 5 mo when I got it for him), but it does not bother him one bit, even on the hottest of days. It is very easy to put on and has the buttons for easy diaper changing (real swim trunks are annoying in this aspect as you have to completely remove them before changing a diaper!). Also, the swim trunk-rash guard combo never covered the baby's fat tummy, so now I never worry about sun exposure. The sleeves and legs do bunch up slightly, but it still provides better coverage than swimsuits and rash guards. I would definitely recommend this sunsuit!

  7. My daughter is 10 months old but running on the small side so I purchased the small/6 months based on the sizing chart. I'm glad I did because it fits great with room to grow through the summer as the material is stretchy. I'm impressed by the quality of the material and zipper. It is easy to put on and the zipper goes up smoothly. We haven't used it enough to comment on the wear and tear. I considered other suits but decided on this one for the price and style.

  8. We just took this swimsuit to The Bahamas and it was perfect. My baby didn't get sun burned with the spf50 protection and not having to put sunblock on her body was bliss. It was easy to put on and take off, diaper changing is a breeze with the snaps. I purchased size Med/12 mths for my 7 mth old (15 lbs) and it fit her fine. Overall, a great purchase.

I really like this suit. It fits our 2 1/2 month old and should continue to fit him for the duration of the summer (3-4 months).
